COB LED Tape Installation Guide
Single Colour COB LED Tape
When installing a power connector to single colour COB LED Tape there are two main
methods; crimping a connector on the end, or soldering the power cable wires to the tape.
Crimping a Connector
The Lyyt Seamless COB Tape Connectors can be used 9 different ways, are transparent
and provide greater 昀氀exibility when joining tape together. They leave no gaps, and do not
require soldering or special tools. Simply place the tape through the connector and crimp
down to secure.
Soldering
When choosing to solder the tape connections, simply follow these steps:
Cut the tape to the desired length.
The cut intervals are clearly
marked on the tape.
To extend or connect power to
the tape, remove the IP65 epoxy
coating.
Solder the cable onto the
end of the tape.
Solder or use crimp connectors
to attach the DC wire to the tape.
To protect the connection, use
silicone glue or heat shrink.
Connect the tape to an
RGB controller. They are available
with screw terminals or plugs.
Select the correct power
supply and attach appropriate
DC connectors.
RGB COB LED Tape
This tape has 4-pin accessories for easy set-up and installation.
Cut the tape to the desired length.
The cut intervals are clearly
marked on the tape. Either crimp
or solder a connector and cable
onto the end of the tape.
If the tape has connectors,
attach a cable via the
4-pin plug.
Signal Ampli昀椀ers
If you run lengths of LED tape of more than 10m, the power
will drop and so will the brightness of the LEDs.
For larger installations, we recommend you use a signal
ampli昀椀er. This allows the signal to pass through while
boosting the power via a power socket and only requires
the use of one controller; ideal for larger installations.
Without a signal
ampli昀椀er:
LEDs can appear
